Microchip Achieves IEC 62443-4-1 ML2 Certification to Strengthen Secure Development for Industrial Automation Systems

Microchip Technology has received IEC 62443-4-1 Maturity Level 2 (ML2) certification from UL Solutions, confirming that its product development processes meet internationally recognized requirements for secure-by-design industrial automation and control systems.

As connected devices continue expanding across industrial, commercial and residential environments, cybersecurity assurance is becoming a critical factor in system design and supply-chain selection. The IEC 62443-4-1 standard provides a structured framework for implementing a secure development lifecycle (SDL), ensuring that security considerations are embedded throughout the entire product lifecycle.
